Simply complete an adoption application and our adoption team will be in touch with you quickly. We can arrange and conduct a virtual "meet and greet” with you and with our pets in foster care to help determine a great fit! We look forward to making a great match for you and your family.
Our Adoption Process

Check out our adoptable pets and follow us on social media to stay updated when new animals are available.

Browse our pets available for adoption. When you see a pet you’re interested in, fill out an online adoption application.

If your application looks like a good fit, we'll set up a meeting and greet. Note: All family members must meet the pet.

The SVPP Adoption Team selects the best home for the pet (we often receive multiple applications).

If a match is made, you'll pay an adoption fee depending on the age, species of the pet, or special program offered (see below).

You and your new pet live happily ever after!
Ready to apply?
All pets have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Adult dogs have been heartworm tested and are on heartworm preventative.
Local Adoptions (within the San Jose area) are preferred so we can provide the best possible post-adoption support for our pets.

Special Adoption Programs
Golden Paws Program
The companionship and devotion of a pet bring joy to life. Golden Paws Program is designed to give our older animals the opportunity to be placed in a loving home by matching them with senior citizens who are 55 years +. An older animal would be a great choice for an older person who needs a buddy! Adoption fees for our senior pets are 50% off.
Adopt-A-Buddy Program
We realize the importance of having a buddy! We believe it is emotionally healthy for animals to have a friend and have found that some behavioral issues can easily be solved or never occur with the addition of a second pet into a household. Adopt a second pet from us at the time of adoption (or within a month) and receive the second adoption fee at 50% off.
Pets for Vets Program
Thank you to all who have served our country! All U.S. Veterans are eligible to adopt a pet at the reduced fee. Adoption fees are discounted 50% off with military ID.
Frequent Adopter Program
If you have adopted from us before, we are happy to offer a discounted adoption fee with a copy of a SVPP adoption agreement. Adoption fees are discounted 25% off.
